The Activist Clown Workshop
Clowns are not playing character roles. They aren't trying to be funny. They emerge from the body in a state of play, as if experiencing the world for the first time. They don't know the rules, don't recognize authority, don't know what's good or bad. Activist clowns are not protestors in Clown costumes. They haven't come to join a protest against other people nor are the police their enemy. Their role is to be curious about what is before them, to find humorous ways to break through authoritarian constructs, reduce fear, deter violence, and preserve the human right to be joyful.
